About the Origin: Sidama (aka Sidamo)
Over the past several years Sidama single origins have become very popular ... and with good reason. The region produces a mix of washed and naturally processed coffees, slowly cultivated to bring out the fruitiest and most aromatic qualities in them. The region is named after the Sidama people, but is referred to as "Sidamo" for coffee. In recent years, there has been a movement to change the name because it could be viewed as derogatory, however, "Sidamo" is very deeply ingrained in the coffee industry. For this reason, the name is used interchangeably. This particular region grows at the highest elevation in Ethiopia (7,200ft).
Our Coffee:
Originating from volcanic soils, and grown using traditional organic-certified farming methods, this magnificent organic Sidamo captures sweet berry notes with a spark of citrus. The resulting coffee is complex and refreshing, perfectly balancing its nippy tartness with a nutty brown-sugar finish.
