Dark Roast, Nutty, Deep Brown Sugar, Toasted Walnut
Our Coffee:
One of our most prized single origins at One World—Golden Andes: Colombian Dark Roast is a love letter to everything we adore about one of the world’s finest coffee varieties. The first sip brings smooth brown sugar and toasted walnut notes to the palate, while rich burnt caramel and toffee explode in the finish of this deep, dark, and delightful South American roast. The clean, smoky complexity of this coffee makes it our go-to for an outstanding cold brew, which we serve throughout the spring and summer months in the cafe.
Region: Sierra Nevada
Sierra Nevada meaning “snow-topped mountains” is a sub-region of the famed Andes mountain range where these extraordinary beans are slowly nurtured to perfection. Sierra Nevada sits at a slightly lower altitude compared to other growing regions in Columbia and this makes all the difference! The unique conditions yield heavier, rounder coffee beans with deeper flavor profiles. The steep, hilly terrain the coffee cherries grow on does make harvesting them challenging for farmers, but the striking quality of the beans makes the effort well worth it.
Farm: Sol Naciente
Sol Naciente was created in 2008 by bringing together competing producers from the Sierra Nevada region for the mutual goal of expanding coffee production in the area and improving the quality of life of their families. Farmers hailed from the two towns of Siberia and San Pedro, with the majority of them being victims of armed conflict who were only recently able to reclaim their land thanks to a restitution program. The families of Sol Naciente are coffee farmers of the highest caliber and we’re deeply grateful to them for their tireless work and outstanding coffee beans! We are also thankful for the opportunity to help them get back on their feet after a long history of turmoil in their region and invite you to support them as well and enjoy an unbelievable coffee in the process.
