“This blend is bold, caramel-nutty, chocolatey, and incredibly smooth—basically it’s exactly what I’d want in a cold-brewed coffee,” Head Roaster, Eric says. When tasked with creating the perfect blend of organic coffee beans to use for the cafe’s signature iced coffee, Eric chose a unique blend of Costa Rican and Colombian beans roasted individually to peak flavor levels and full-body.

Why is our cold brew coffee a blend? Why don’t we just use one single origin? “It’s a lot like crafting the perfect espresso—you need to marry the best qualities of each of your beans into the end result—bringing together some really outstanding Guatemalan and Colombian beans gives our cold brew a special synergy that no one coffee would have been able to create,” Head Roaster Eric says.
So what is this special synergy Eric mentions? It’s an added flavor complexity and balance from the Guatamalan’s signature baker’s chocolate and citrus notes with the Colombian’s distinct caramel and nut flavors. The two coffees also allow us to create a “just right” balance of smoothness and pepp in each cup.
