About the Region: Atitlan
Numerous coffee farms surround lake Atitlan, sitting at 4,900 ft. above sea level. The prized lake not only attracts coffee growers, but also writers and travelers for its immense beauty. Strong winds blow through the region in the morning and afternoon which is known as xocomil (zo-ka-mill) to the locals, meaning ‘to carry away sin.' Atitlan also has many nature reserves throughout the area to preserve biodiversity and prevent deforestation. The region's beans are harvested between December and March.

Our Coffee:

Grown naturally and sustainably under the shade of trees, this certified "shade-grown" coffee is nurtured by an environment that encourages slow growth, so its beans are bursting with bold flavor by the time they are harvested. Our organic Atitlan coffee produces a medium-bodied cup with complex flavors of peppery dark chocolate and citrus.
